Tue, 15 Jun 2021 5.00pm - 6.30pm

These online sessions are jam packed with practical and fun ways to introduce Global Citizenship themes into your primary classroom!

What is Global Citizenship? Why does it matter? How can you introduce the idea of Global Citizenship to primary age learners in a sensitive and engaging way?

Global Citizenship is a framework to equip learners for critical and active engagement with the challenges and opportunities of life in a fast-changing and interdependent world.

This course is designed to help you understand the place of Global Citizenship within Scottish education's Learning for Sustainability (LfS) agenda.

You will receive a resource list to take away, along with plenty of new ideas around how to weave key Global Citizenship themes like climate change, gender equality, migration and the UN SDGs into your lessons in a way that is accessible to your primary age learners.

Across the two session we will:

- explore the key issues of our time and how LfS and Global Ctizenship can be a framework for navigating these
- examine where LfS and GC sit within educational policy
- try out some methodologies to help develop the skills and values of Global Citizenship with learners
- look at resources to help us embed GC into our practice.
