This online session focuses on practical ways to introduce Global Citizenship themes into your secondary classroom.

What is Global Citizenship? Why does it matter? How can you introduce the idea of Global Citizenship to secondary age learners in a sensitive and engaging way?

Global Citizenship is a framework to equip learners for critical and active engagement with the challenges and opportunities of life in a fast-changing and interdependent world.

This short online professional learning webinar delivered by Scotland's Development Education Centres is designed to help you understand the place of Global Citizenship within Scottish education's Learning for Sustainability (LfS) agenda.

You will receive a resource list to take away, along with plenty of new ideas around how to weave key Global Citizenship themes like climate change, gender equality, migration and the UN SDGs into your lessons in a way that is accessible to your secondary age learners.

We will:

• consider frameworks to support progression and planning for Global Citizenship

· introduce classroom activities to explore the 17 Sustainable Development Goals

· share participatory learning methodologies for secondary pupils that develop critical thinking.
