SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Fair Trade

FT session with FTF

WHEN: February 11th, 4.30pm-5.30pm.

WHERE: Online - register via Eventbrite.

With Fairtrade Fortnight just around the corner, we welcome Claire Arnott, Education Officer for the Fairtrade Foundation's Education Team. She'll be talking us through the upcoming Fairtrade Fortnight (Feb. 22nd - Mar. 7th) and we'll be helping to make connections with Learning for Sustainability, the UN Sustainable Development Goals and global citizenship.

Facilitated by One World Centre Dundee and with the Scottish Fair Trade Forum, we will also explore 'unfair trade' and introduce you to new teaching resources that support learners to deepen their understanding of Trade Justice and its connections to sustainability.

You will have the opportunity to explore some of the ethical challenges of modern western society at a time of year when consumption typically reaches record levels. How can we celebrate the spirit of the festive season to meet the expectations of our families whilst considering the needs and rights of others around the world?

This is a slightly adapted version of the session we ran in November 2020.

Please note that we will be recording this session so that parts of it can be used throughout Fairtrade Fortnight. You can of course let us know if you do not wish to appear in this and we can ensure that you remain anonymous.
