Inter–professional Refugee Trauma Framework Planning Workshop

Dr. Ian Barron

Jane Barron welcomed everybody to the workshop on Tuesday June 14, and began by giving a brief summary of the UK government’s position on refugees.
Across the world according to UNHCR there are 19.5 million refugees. The UK have agreed to take 20,000 by the year 2020 although that number may well increase as more unaccompanied children are welcomed into the UK.
Dr Ian Barron has designed a framework for use by agencies working with traumatised children/adults and the purpose of the workshop was to trial the ‘framework’ looking at what is good and what could be better.

Our World to Save Exhibition

Our World to Save Exhibition

Friday December 4 to Monday December 7, The Steeple Church, Nethergate, Dundee, DD1 4DG

Last year, the One World Centre in Dundee launched a project called the Creative Community Programme.
Reaching out to community centres, schools and support groups, we built relationships with young people of all ages.
Working alongside an artist, the young people shared their unique backgrounds, identities, interests and passions, and created artworks that express how they truly feel about global issues of today, asking important questions about our future.

The resulting exhibition shows a range of artworks produced to raise awareness and encourage action to create a better world.

We cordially invite you to come to our exhibition opening night on Friday Dec 4 from 4 pm to 7 pm at The Steeple Church.
The exhibition will then be open on a drop-in basis from 12 noon to 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
