Hear Guest Speaker Dr Husam AlWaer

You are warmly invited to join us on Tuesday 21st August at 5.15pm to hear Dr. Husam AlWaer, Senior Lecturer at the University of Dundee, talk about his research on the urbanism of refugee camps. Often considered as temporary places built in response to a crisis, the truth is that these camps exist for years, and Dr. AlWaer will show that when refugees can make changes to their space, they can make changes to their lives.

Following Dr. AlWaer's talk, the One World Center will be holding its 33rd Annual General Meeting, however attendance at the AGM is not required.

The venue for the talk is Lecture Theatre 1 (LT1) on the ground floor of the Dalhousie Building on University of Dundee’s main campus.

The evening is built around the idea that everyone has a story, and along with Dr. AlWaer, One World Centre celebrates the differences that can be made by sharing stories; stories that we hear and stories we are a part of. With this in mind, we will hold a collection on behalf of Lend With Care - www.lendwithcare.org - which provides access to sustainable funds and allows recipients to change their own story.

Please come along.

With best wishes
