The One World Centre is offering a CPD session for secondary school teachers to explore the story of Malala Yousafzai, the teenager who was attacked by the Taliban gunmen in Pakistan for advocating education for girls.

 

Aims of the CPD

  • Engage with Sustainable Development Goals – especially Goal 5 GENDER EQUALITY and Goal 4 QUALITY EDUCATION

  • Explore lesson plans and activities around the subjects of GENDER EQUALITY and QUALITY EDUCATION

  • Focus on ideas to support rights based learning and teaching in the classroom

Everyone attending this CPD will receive a FREE copy of the DVD, “He Named Me Malala” to use in school with pupils – suitable for English, Social Subjects, RME, during assemblies or in general registration/learning sessions.
